EnglandxReader Falling Forward: Part 5
I had just made it into the house just as the rain went from sprinkling to pouring. Thunder boomed in the sky I thought I saw ______ jump. Rory was waiting inside with fresh tea and scones. As the next round of thunder _______ excused herself and ran up the stairs. I was worried about her so I went upstairs and checked on her. She was wrapped up in her covers cowering; I heard her yelp as the next round went off. I walked over and tore the covers off, sat down on the edge of the bed, and wrapped her up in a hug. She cuddled into my chest as the thunder went off.
"______ are you okay?" I asked her.
"Y-yeah, I just hate thunder." She whispered. Her voice broke.
"Don't lie to me _______ I know something's wrong."
"So maybe I'm afraid of thunder so what." She sat up and stared me in the face.
"It's okay to be afraid." I looked her in the eyes.
"Why do you care?!? It's not like you have a crush on me or anything!!!" That one stung. A lot. I reached my hands up to her face and held her face in my hands. I leaned in closer and pressed my lips to hers. She sat there for a moment and then kissed me back. We finally pulled apart.
"Trust me I care."
